The Wonderful world of BEARS

Celebrating National (Teddy) Bear's Day

(Note: This special event was suggested by Emily Moon, a teddy bear and Care Bear enthusiast, who celebrated her birthday yesterday. Happy BEARthday Emily!)

Bears are one of the most notable animals on our planet whether they be the cute and playful pandas, intimidating grizzlies, majestic black bears, or the popular polar bears in Coca Cola commercials. These creatures have become iconic as mascots, stuffed animals, forest decals and popular in Hollwood marketing labels and movies, greeting cards, and logos. For the Native Americans, bears have spiritual meanings. A bear stands for energy, confidence, self-healing, peace, understanding, solitude, motherhood, activeness, courage, resurrection, optimism, and majesty. As a totem guide, a bear shows you how to overlook your minor problems and appreciate the beauty of life. (Source: https://www.universeofsymbolism.com/bear-symbolism.html)

[National Teddy Bear Day] is a holiday that celebrates the teddy bear. The holiday was created by Goldie and Louise Blum, two sisters who founded the Teddy Bear company. On this day, people usually buy teddy bears for their friends and family members. They also take pictures of themselves with their teddy bears. Some people also dress up their teddy bears in costumes. These lovable stuffed animals can be used for a variety of purposes, from collecting to cuddling. Some people use teddy bears as a source of comfort, while others view them as pieces of art. Regardless of their purpose, teddy bears are sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
